Genesis 1 and 2

We know that God does not contradict himself, and that all of the bible is inspired by God, so there are no contradictions, only misunderstandings on our part. What would you say, then, if people confronted you with the "obvious contradictions" found in Genesis 1 and 2, the two accounts of the creation of man(kind) ?

We discussed this recently, and found that it makes perfect sense if you change the order of the verses according to the content instead of sticking to the chronological order of the chapters. I am providing the two chapters in the changed order as a pdf:

Genesis 1 and 2

If you think it's unnecessary to re-read Genesis 1 and 2 because you read it a jillion times already, please answer this question:

On which day was Adam created ?

After you wrote your answer down somewhere, please take the time and read the convenient pdf we created for you and linked to above, and then see if you still come to the same answer to the above question.

And when you are done recovering from the shock, consider the implications of what you have just found.

When you are ready, please continue here:

Genesis 4

We are skipping Genesis 3 for the time being because a whole different set of questions arises concerning that particular chapter that deserves a series of articles of its own. We will write about Genesis 3 and its implications at some point in the future.
