Qualities Of A Good Wife Part 1

A good wife fulfills all her chores and duties with love and care, joyfully and diligently and creatively. Her inner qualities shine through in it all. The four most important qualities - obedience, honesty, purity, and faithfulness - are described below.

A good wife submits herself to her husband, "as it is fit in the Lord" (Col 3:18).

She trusts him and obeys his word in everything, so that the whole family can learn from her example and can be lead in God's way. It is the husband's responsibility to guide them all, and the wife's responsibility to ensure that he succeeds and that the whole house follows his lead. So her obedience is crucial, and her trust an example to all the family.

Also, she needs to be completely honest. There is nothing to fear, for her husband loves her and cares for her and never abandons her. She shares all her worries with him as well as all her joys, all her problems and decisions in the home, her progress and her stagnation in her chores and in her understanding, and with his guidance and obedient to his will, she improves her work daily and grows in understanding, and does good for the whole family day by day. She listens to his commands, suggestions, requests, and trusts that his good judgment leads the family safely in God's everlasting way. She accepts correction gladly and strives to avoid mistakes.
