"By Way Of Remembrance" (2Pe 3:1) - Holiness in the Bible Part 3

"Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world." (Jas 1:27)

The widow and the fatherless, the only two groups who are entitled to charity in the community, we seek out within our gates.

Overall, there will be no involvement in the world's affairs from our side, and we deny the world any involvement in our affairs just as well.

We do not vote, for the world cannot be changed from within, but we await God's hand to sort the mess out and preserve the usual remnant.

"For thus saith the LORD; Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations: publish ye, praise ye, and say, O LORD, save thy people, the remnant of Israel." (Jer 31:7),

"For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened." (Mat 24:21-22)

We deny that the state or a church of any flavor have the right to educate, or even have a say in the education of our children. The yardstick is God's word alone, and of course our children are home schooled.

"Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up." (Deu 11:18-19)
