A new section: How to Be a Lady
How wonderful it is to see a well behaved young girl, a real young lady. How wonderful, and how rare the sight has become ! The sad truth is, even if a girl of the 21st century aspires to be a lady when she is an adult, there is precious little guidance and advice for her out there in the world, to guide her in her youth into the right direction and onto the right path. The reasons for this are multifarious, but can be summarized as follows:
Modern society is largely secular, and being a lady is not what a woman should be according to secular humanism. In today's world, a woman has to be equal to a man, not only in her rights and duties, but also in her manners and interests, even in her looks, more often than not.
We at Joshuah's House lament this development and are about to launch a new series here on our main website, entitled How to Be a Lady. It will not repeat what we have been talking about in our Biblical Femininity section, which already deals with the education of girls, but instead will add to this section how a girls education can revolve around and focus on helping her to become a lady.
Young people need advice, parents need advice as to how to properly raise their daughters, and the goal must be clear, for all people involved, just as the standard by which to go must be clear. The goal is to raise godly children, and if your daughter is raised to be a lady, many things secular society suggests as "normal" will not be normal for her at all, but inappropriate, as they are according to God's word.
