Lady Lesson #2: The Most Important Thing

If you wish to become a lady or raise your daughters to be ladies, there is one thing that stands at the beginning of this training. There is one thing you cannot do without, unless your training to become a lady will be for naught. If you and your daughters don't have this one thing, you will not be ladies, but haughty, self-centered snobs when your training is done. You will take all the wrong things from the right lessons and will be arrogant and prideful rather than virtuous women when the day is done.

If you want to be a lady, you need to have a standard to go by, an eternal standard that does not change with times and seasons, and standard that has been true since the beginning of time and remains true until the end of time. If you go by the values and ideals of the time you are living in, or a time 100 years back, you are deceived. Read Isaiah 3:16-26 for an example of "ladies" who went by the standard of their times.

"The LORD said: Because the daughters of Zion are haughty and walk with outstretched necks, glancing wantonly with their eyes, mincing along as they go, tinkling with their feet, therefore the Lord will strike with a scab the heads of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will lay bare their secret parts.
In that day the Lord will take away the finery of the anklets, the headbands, and the crescents; the pendants, the bracelets, and the scarves; the headdresses, the armlets, the sashes, the perfume boxes, and the amulets; the signet rings and nose rings; the festal robes, the mantles, the cloaks, and the handbags; the mirrors, the linen garments, the turbans, and the veils. Instead of perfume there will be rottenness; and instead of a belt, a rope; and instead of well-set hair, baldness; and instead of a rich robe, a skirt of sackcloth; and branding instead of beauty." (Isa 3:16-24)

To follow this ever lasting and eternal standard, avoid punishment like we read about in Isa 3, and be successful in your endeavor to become a lady, this is what you have to do:

"You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might." (Deu 6:5)

Now how do you do that, "love the LORD your God" ? Jesus tells you how to love the LORD your God:

"If you love me, you will keep my commandments." (Joh 14:15)

Everything you learn, everything you decide, everything you do, every advice you take and every good thing you turn to so that it may mold you into a lady willl be just garish adornment and shallow achievement if you do it just for the sake of becoming a lady. You can do the right things for the wrong reasons, see.

So the very first lesson to learn is this: That you are but dust, and that no attitude or comportment, no clothing or head covering will turn you into a lady if you do not fear the LORD your God and obey Him in everything you do, think and say. Whatever you are, you are by the grace of God alone, and you owe it to Him to obey His commandments and be a lady.
