Lady Lesson #7: What Is Wrong With School ?
A few lessons ago I mentioned school, so let me explain what is wrong with school, or college for that matter. Do not get me wrong, I am not saying education is a bad thing, on the contrary. Education is very important, in every way. But school is not the way to go, neither is college. And here is why:
The first and foremost thing that is wrong with school is this:
God gave parents, not teachers, the responsibility for the education of their children. Parents are to teach their children day and night, every day, all the days of their life, and the things that are valuable and necessary in the eyes of God. (Deu 6:7)
Which leads me to the second thing that's wrong with schools and colleges:
They are godless institutions because they are fundamentally humanistic. Schools and colleges teach you, outspokenly or not, the values of a secular society that does not fear God.
Lastly, at school or college, you associate with the wrong people. Nowadays, schools and colleges are mostly coeducational, i.e., boys and girls are taught together, thus teaching that man and women have equal roles to play in the family and society. This is not so, God has ordained it differently. Besides, being taught together diminishes the healthy shyness that both boys and girls should have in dealing with the opposite sex (outside the family). Furthermore, other children you might meet are not necessarily brethren, so from an early age onwards, you will be subjected to the "fiery darts" of the enemy (Eph 6), trying to convince you that there is no God, but that man is king. If you are still young, you won't have the whole armor of God well in place yet to defend yourself against such fiery darts, and you will be led astray one way or another.
Only if God's values are maintained, both boys and girls can lead pure lives and enter into marriage with the right mind set. Schools and colleges do their best to destroy God's values and put in place the values of man. This is what's wrong with school and college, and this is why being home schooled, and thus being separate from a godless, secular society, is essential if you wish to be a lady when you are grown up.
