Christ Our Redeemer Part 5

So if Christ's death on the cross means anything to us, it should be this, that we should be eternally thankful for the redeeming work He did for us, and therefore careful not to defile our Lord's house by disobedience, and not to try and crucify Christ again by falling back into the sinful ways (Heb 6:6) that are the mirror of man's corrupted heart after the fall (Gen 6:5), but that we should keep His commandments and walk in His ways as He has told us from the beginning, as good and faithful servants of our Lord. We are not redeemed generally speaking, to do as we please from now on, but we are redeemed TO GOD, and therefore owe Him our life, and will be held accountable for all the good things He has given us, and all the things we did with our life, and all those He entrusted to us, on Judgment Day.

"And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth." (Rev 5:8-10)
