A husband's most precious asset, his treasure and delight, are his wives and his children (Psa 127:3-5), and his love and care is shown in his protection for them. Guided by God's Law and Christ's example, he decides on how to protect his beloved property in today's world. Ironically, most protective means are nowadays viewed as backward, to use the friendliest term. Thus, most Western women are basically unprotected, have to face the world alone, and more often than not defile themselves before they turn 15, in any number of ways. One cannot but think that their parents and husbands don't care for them the way they should, don't love them and honor them as God wants them to. To make it more clear how a husband and father can show his love and care for his family, let me be a little more specific.
Men are not known for purity of thought. On the contrary, men are known to view women more often than not as prey, they feast on exposed legs, breasts clearly perceivable under tight sweaters, see-through clothing, long hair. Sadly enough, in today's world women seem to like that and act the harlot in many ways, unprotected and gullible.
A loving and caring husband and father takes precautions against his family being violated in any way. He protects his wives' chastity and sees to it that they don't expose themselves by wearing tight fitting, short, or see through-clothes. Covering their hair with a veil additionally protects his precious treasure from lusting eyes. He builds the family's home removed from society and restricts his family's contact with the godless world to the unavoidable minimum. He provides for them from home if at all possible, and guides them in God's way. His love shows in his rules concerning Sabbath keeping, rest and work hours, education and conduct, in any commandment he gives and in any discipline that becomes necessary. His children are his blessing and his joy, his wives his helpers, companions, lovers and sisters in Christ.
