Head Covering Part 2

(main biblical references: Deu 21:22, Isa 3:24, Rom 14:13, 1 Co 11:3-16)

1. All our life is under the authority of Christ, and everything we do and think and say, we do to His glory. Every moment is a moment of prayer, of thanksgiving and praise and trustful obedience, so I feel comfortable being covered all day long.

2. We know that long hair in a woman is attractive to men, and we also know that if we show our hair in public, it is attractive to men other than our husbands. I do not wish to be seen by other men, in order not to be a stumbling block for the brethren (Rom 14:13) and in order to be able to stay my own husband's garden enclosed (Son 4:12), his pure wife alone, undefiled by other men's thoughts about my hair, or any other part of me. So naturally, I don't leave the house uncovered either.

If you are still asking yourself why women should cover their heads if their long hair is their covering already, please note this:

Paul says the woman is the glory of the man, and her hair is her glory, so in fact, her hair is her husband's glory, too. There is no need to prance around presenting yourself and your hair to other men, for a woman belongs to her own husband alone, he is her protection and covering, and she should be happy to take pains not to be seen by others but wear the sign of this protection proudly, yet humbly.
