What Is Child Abuse
According to God's Standard ? Part 1
Oftentimes, anti-polygamist websites, programs, campaigns against a polygamist group or individual come up with headlines such as this:
Child Protection Project: Help The Child Brides ! Justice For Children !
They seem to know what polygamy boils down to, the accusation is quickly made, and sticks, of course: Child abuse. Why ? I guess if they were honest about it, they would admit that their basic intent is to cut off the supply, so to speak, since for someone who relies on the family as the main unit of Kingdom Building, children are essential, and society as well as the state dislike this attitude. Having kids is fine according to society as long as they end up being wards of the state. You are allowed to keep them and raise them and educate them, to the standard that the state-god determines, and no further... otherwise, it's abuse. If you want to teach them biblical values, ideals, morals, in short, a standard that is not the state's or society's standard but God's, you are accused of indoctrination. On the other hand, if you subject your children to society's and the state's indoctrination via the school system and the media, basically, and if you leave your children completely unprotected but just let them watch, read, listen to or play just about anything they can get their hands on, it is called "freedom" or "justice" for the children.
Going by God's standard, our ideas about what "abuse" and what "freedom" or "justice" is are quite different from society's and the state's definition. Freedom and justice are based only on the perfect law of liberty and God's good judgment, and abuse is what teaches the children to go against God's Law-Word.
Parents are given the responsibility to prepare their children well for the task given to all of us by God - parents, not school, nor the state, society, the media, or peers. If parents refuse to take this responsibility and let other people educate their children, that is where the abuse starts, for the result for the children is a life of confusion and sin, a life in which they are bound to make choices that lead them straight into the gaping mouth of hell.
