What Is Child Abuse According to God's Standard ? Part 4

6. Teaching children to be wasteful (or call it: good consumers) is abusive.

We are called to be good stewards of creation. A consumer mentality goes straight against the dominion covenant, no matter how much society and the state try to turn everyone into a good consumer. Since it is rather common that society calls good evil and evil good, the very fact that society and the state want something so badly should make parents suspicious. What society calls good consumerism is in fact wasteful behavior and not good stewardship at all.

7. Educating children to like food that is thoroughly unhealthy - too fat, too salty, too sugary, highly processed - is abusive.

It should stand to reason that teaching a child unhealthy eating habits and tastes is wrong since it will damage the child's health and well being not only for the moment, but for life. Lazy parents who do not wish to live healthily themselves and force their children into their own unhealthy diet will have to answer for this kind of behavior as it violated the 6th commandment, Though shall not kill, and thus is certainly abusive to the child.

8. Forcing children to spend time every day with a large group of so-called peers (or call it: attend school) is abusive.

Everybody knows how cruel children can be to their peers. Being forced to spend half the day or even more in a group of children the same age breeds all kinds of wrong behavior, and it makes peers the number one educator of a child. Since parents are responsible for the well-being and protection of their children, they should not allow such a situation to bear down on their children on a daily basis, plus they should not allow anyone but themselves to lead the way in educating their children.
