What Is Child Abuse According to God's Standard ? Part 2
Parents teach by example just as much as, most probably even more than by organized, planned teaching. So if you regard the following, keep in mind that a parent that indulges in or clings to all kinds of worldly pleasures and ideas will pass this attitude on to the children, and all the godly teaching that might be provided, if it is only theory and not lived daily, will do nothing but prove the parent or parents to be hypocrites.
Just as parents teach by example, so does society. Since society does not proclaim God's standard but its own, separation is indispensable, in many ways. Encouraging children to be part of society is a dangerous thing, for it robs them off the protection a father and husband is called to provide for his house, and makes them easy prey for ungodly spirits and false teaching.
But let us list a few examples, to illustrate our argument.
1. Refusing to teach your children right from wrong, important from unimportant according to the only unchanging standard is abusive.
If children are not taught God's word, as parents are commanded to, they do not have a standard to go by, but are forced to look to society and the state for guidance, which amounts to idolatry. You can only serve one master. If society's priorities are internalized, a child will not follow God's law but the state's law, and will not be able to live a pure and holy life. It will look to other people for approval and reassurance instead of looking to God and His eternal word.
2. Exposing children to all kinds of false teaching (or call it: TV and the media) well before they are able to discern any spirits is abusive.
TV and the media are effective teachers, and many children nowadays learn more from advertisement than from their parents. The values and doctrines taught by the media, by TV, Hollywood, advertisement, magazines and the music industry are false teachings and dangerous doctrines for the most part, so exposing a child to them is abusive, as it has no means of defending himself or herself. As long as the child is still being taught and still practices how to see the spirits at work in the world, it needs protection from ungodly spirits, and proper guidance according to God's word.
